New American Express Platinum Card Design
Newly designed American Express Platinum Card available from January 20, 2022.
Julie Mehretu and Kehinde Wiley, two highly acclaimed artists who transformed the Platinum Card into pieces of art, have designed two new U.S. Consumer Platinum Card designs. New and existing Platinum Card Members will be able to pick between the two new Art x Platinum designs, which will join the original Platinum design, beginning January 20, 2022.
The Platinum x Julie Mehretu was designed by Julie Mehretu, one of today’s most well-known abstract painters, and it mimics her characteristic abstract modernity.
Julie Mehretu stated, “Making art for me is about stretching the imagination and possibility, the amazing sensation of creativity and vitality that a painting may bring.” “Art is always around us, and I’m happy that a piece of my work can now be found on the tiniest of canvases in Platinum Card Members’ wallets.”
Mehretu is known for her mystical and intricate works that link architecture, identity, and history while also promoting important art concepts.
